ABOUT

BALANCENSTRENGTH was founded 20 years ago. What inspired me was the beauty of classical ballet and the contribution of Pilates to the ballet art form.

BALANCENSTRENGTH holds only small classes. This way, we get to know each client and can provide maximum guidance. This encourages our clients to put a premium on health and fitness.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis on Human Anatomy and Physiology from the University of Kentucky.

I have worked for the University of Kentucky Wellness Program as a Pilates and yoga instructor for the past 25 years.

I have also worked for the University of Kentucky’s Kinesiology Dept. as an Adjunct Professor teaching Pilates and yoga for several semesters.

I am currently a Pilates instructor for Lifestyle Essentials, a wellness corporation in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.

WHAT WE OFFER

Classical Pilates

Pilates is a series of controlled movements. These moves are designed to encourage body awareness, promote flexibility, and increase physical as well as mental strength. The two types of sessions are Fundamentals and Mat1.

Classical Ballet

The main focus of Floor-Barre is to provide alignment exercises based on ballet technique without weight bearing.

Workshops

Fundamental training and Mat 1 exercises are offered as 2-hour sessions on Saturdays.

Healthy Lifestyle:

The path toward healthy living begins with accessing the right information. In addition to class training, BALANCENSTRENGTH emphasizes the importance of healthy lifestyle habits (regular fitness routine, adequate sleep, reducing stress, proper diet). BALANCENSTRENGTH shares insights with clients so they can put these principles into practice and feel their best. We do not focus on appearance. Our priority is wellness – physical and mental fitness.

Empowered Exercise:

BALANCENSTRENGTH does not encourage exercise for exercise’s sake. Exercise should be considered as a form of meditation that provides therapeutic results.

Positive Thinking:

The process of establishing new thought patterns that generate renewed energy and action.
